We see too many rotted fuel lines , leaking fuel injectors , leaking fuel pressure regulators and liquid gasoline and vapours near hot engines and hot exhaust pipes . Last week a building burned down here in London due to raw fuel on a hot engine which reminded me to write about this to alert my readers . I have worked in this trade since 1985 and have seen 2 cars ignite very quickly with fuel fires ( good thing for fire extinguishers ) . This story all over the London news again prompted me to write about this and welcome any readers to come in and have a fuel system inspection .

Man is OK after motorists shout ‘Your van is on fire!’ on London highway 401 on Saturday .

LONDON, Ont. — A man and his dog escaped from their burning van on Highway 401 in London, Ont., after they were alerted to the fire by two passing motorists.

Louie Teixeira says he and a co-worker were heading along the highway Saturday morning when they noticed a fire under the van’s motor.

He says his co-worker then rolled down his window and shouted “Your van is on fire!” before the driver of the burning vehicle pulled to the shoulder as flames spread.

The man and the dog got out in time.

One of the highway’s westbound lanes was briefly closed as police investigated.
