Yes you can get a bad safety inspection

I get mail about safety inspections .

Here is what one person writes and my response .

HI,

I feel stuck as I do not know where to turn first. I purchased a 2007 Mazda 5 almost 3weeks ago and since the purchase have experienced many problems with the Dealerchip and with the car. We had checked out by another mechanic and they say the front brakes were finished and 2 of our tires were finished(very cracked). We returned to the dealer, they gave us 2 new tires and refused to change the brakes, they machined the rotors and returned the car to me. I still feel vibration while driving the car and the brakes still bibrate when I brake although it is smoother than before. I worry that I am not safe in this car. Licensing assistance told me I had to it up with the dealer and I should have researched better. My Husband test drove it and he was told that the brakes just squeaked because they had been sitting for 3 months. We never received a copy of the safety so we do not know what popped up on that inspection nonetheless, the car was given to us with issues that our
mechanic said were safety issues. The Car proof I received after purchase says the car had not moved for over a year. The dealer lied to us. Time is going by and I am unsure of what are my rights.

I can understand your frustration and time is of the utmost importance . Some of the items that you have mentioned are safety related and you should get that car re evaluated by the ministry of transport . Please call the MTO and report a bad Ontario safety inspection . They will have you take the car to a certified garage of your choice , they will meet you there and they will pay for an inspection as well as working along side of technician and documenting defects . Once a time frame has been decided that the worn items would not have been adequate at time of inspection ( which they will have a copy of ) , they will lay charges and you can then start a civil lawsuit .
